Email is still the highest-ROI channel in eCommerce — but only if the flows are set up correctly. Most brands have the basics installed but they’re either misconfigured, triggered wrong, or just not generating the revenue they should be.

Welcome Series: The First Impression Flow

Most brands send one welcome email. A high-performing welcome series runs 4–6 emails over 7–10 days — introducing the brand, establishing credibility, addressing objections, and making an offer. Your welcome flow is the highest-converting email sequence you’ll ever write. Treat it like one.

Abandoned Cart: Stop Leaving Money on the Table

The average eCommerce cart abandonment rate is 70%+. A three-email abandoned cart sequence — 1 hour, 24 hours, 72 hours — recovers a meaningful chunk of that revenue on autopilot. Most brands have this flow but the timing and copy are off. The third email with a small incentive is often the highest converter.

Browse Abandonment: The One Most Brands Skip

Visitors who view products but don’t add to cart are pre-qualified buyers. A browse abandonment flow reaches them before they forget you exist. This is one of the easiest wins in Klaviyo and one of the least-implemented flows for brands under $5M.

Post-Purchase: Turn Buyers Into Repeat Buyers

Your post-purchase sequence should thank the customer, set expectations, invite a review, and cross-sell within 30 days. If you’re not doing all four, you’re leaving retention revenue on the table.
